St Johns House Officially Opens With A Four Star Rating
St Johns House is a new luxurious bed and breakfast located in the centre of Lichfield which has achieved the AA's ‘Highly Commended Four Star' rating within its first month of opening.
The B&B is run by Johann Popp who purchased the property in 2003 and for the last few years Johann has been renovating the grade II* listed Georgian building using traditional methods.
Achieving the AA's ‘Highly Commended Four Star' rating not only means that St Johns House is the highest rated B&B in Lichfield but it also denotes that St Johns House is in the top ten percent of the four star rating.
Johann commented: "I've focused on luxury with each bedroom having a ‘vi spring' mattress, quality bedding, fridge, ironing press and tea and coffee making facilities. All bathrooms are en suite with Porcelanosa tiles and power showers.
"Each room also has its own direct dial telephone and free internet access together with a flat screen television making the B&B ideal for the business traveller and tourist who want more than just a bed for the night".
St Johns House Bed & Breakfast has four rooms in newly renovated stables and breakfast is served in the dining room of the historic St Johns House.
The B&B also has a contemporary link with artist Antony Gormley who is currently asking people to occupy the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.
Johann explained "When I had to replace some laurels it transpired that the sculptor that I had instructed to make the new one was the same person who had sculptured the plinths in Trafalgar Square, including Antony Gormley's empty Fourth Plinth".
